Evelyn & Ryan are expecting their rainbow baby boy in late spring. Rainbow babies are any baby born after a pregnancy loss. It’s not talked about enough, but not everyone gets pregnant so easily.

Being a newborn photographer, I have talked to so many families who have dealt with the realities of infertility. Some families have had to try and try again to get their precious children. I have a real soft spot for working with families with this type of story. While all babies are special, I know the parents who have experienced loss or a long wait for their child (or both) are that much more appreciative of getting to this point. The struggle is there for so many women. One in four women have had a pregnancy loss. It’s much more common than we think. Children are truly a miracle and it really touches my heart when I get to capture that happy ending.

I am so honored I got to capture such a special time for them with a maternity photography session.

We chose to meet at Boar’s Head Resort, which had some great blooms at the time and was just beautiful! I love shooting at Boar’s Head because there’s a lot of variety and they don’t charge a fee to shoot here. This session was taken when I was still based in Virginia, but there are plenty of beautiful locations for maternity photography in Montgomery too!
